UNIGO Education Experts ("we", "our", "us") operates the UNIGO mobile application (the "App"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
1. What We Collect
You provide this information directly when you use the App:
- Registration: Full name, email address, phone number, gender, age
- Verification: ID card photo and selfie photo (taken via your device camera or uploaded from gallery)
- Team registration: Team name, team logo image, player roster details
- Cashback claims: Name, email, phone, study preferences, academic background
- Communications: Any messages you send us through support or contact forms
We do not collect device IP addresses, browsing activity, analytics, advertising IDs, or any background location data.

- Team and player registration forms
- Cashback claim application form

4. Third-Party Services
We use the following service providers to operate the App. They process data only on our instructions and do not use it for their own purposes:
- Cloudinary(cloudinary.com) — stores ID card photos, selfies, and team logos
- Google Fonts(fonts.google.com) — provides font rendering in the App
- Supabase(supabase.com) — database and authentication backend
- Neon(neon.tech) — PostgreSQL database hosting
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
5. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own (including Nepal, UAE, or cloud provider locations). When we transfer data across borders, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards where required by law.
6. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active, plus 12 months after deletion request
- Photos (ID card, selfie, logo): Retained while your team registration or account is active
- Cashback claims: Retained for 24 months
- Aggregated/anonymized data: Retained indefinitely
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data (update in your profile)
- Delete your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for photo collection at any time
- Export your data in a portable format

8. Children
The App is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately and we will delete it.
9. Security
We protect your data using:
- Encrypted HTTPS connections for all API traffic
- Secure cloud storage (Cloudinary) for uploaded images
- Hashed passwords (bcrypt) — we never store passwords in plain text
- JWT authentication tokens with expiration
10. Data Breach Notification
If a data breach affects your personal data, we will notify you within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 72 hours) with details of the breach and steps taken.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
